I have decided to write this article about long-term steroid use based on my personal experience. I do not recommend or advise anyone to take steroids; that’s your choice. I want to share my experience and what is happening. I’m currently on a TRT/HRT cruise with a low dose of 120 mg a week of Sustanon and 180 mg of Deca every 2 weeks. Why? That’s what I will explain in this article.
Why I decided continuous steroid use
About 4 years ago I had problems with my testosterone levels. I experienced depression and mood swings, lost muscle mass, and gained belly fat. After a pause of more than 10 years, I decided to resume lifting weights, but almost immediately, I began to experience pain in my forearms every time I lifted heavy weights. After undergoing blood tests, the results indicated that my testosterone level was approximately 200, which is slightly higher than the minimum threshold. The General Practitioner (GP) assured me that everything was fine, but I felt uneasy; joint and bone pains were telling me that osteoporosis was firmly gripping me. I researched for a few weeks about low testosterone levels and testosterone replacement therapy, and unfortunately, I was unable to receive treatment from a GP, as I was still above minimum levels. The only option I had was to receive private treatment. Rapidly I have found out that privately owned clinics are not cheap, and every time you need to pay for service, any blood work or any injection will cost you money. Imagine taking a shot every week, and every 6–12 weeks, you have blood work done before your dose is adjusted to the right level. And we talk about a few hundred pounds every month for years to come. I have decided to go with an underground supplier, and I have tried a few of their products. I conducted a thorough investigation into the quality of their products and the feedback I received about them. However, let’s talk about my experience.
When I started the steroid cycle, I aimed to do up to 12 weeks of blasting followed by a post-cycle therapy (PCT) for the same duration. I started to feel better with the first cycle, getting stronger and reducing belly fat. I felt like I was 25 again. By the way, I’m 45 years old. What I have noticed after coming off is my strength dropped, and I started to feel bad again; depression came back, and a lack of motivation kicked in. I completed three cycles like that and gained 20 kg of muscle; it felt excellent compared to my previous struggles to build anything due to low testosterone. You can find many articles discussing steroids and their negative effects; however, they can be harmful only if used incorrectly. The body needs a specific amount to function correctly; for some people it is a higher level, for some lower, and the range is between 200 and 1000. The average man has between 400 and 600, so if you keep that range, there is not much risk, as the body is not under stress. Unfortunately, trying to build muscle mass will prevent you from achieving significant growth. A bigger body needs a higher level of testosterone to support that. At some point, your body will give up, and side effects will appear that go beyond acne or hair loss on your head. I’m talking about heart disease, kidney or liver problems. Failure of the central nervous system may also cause you to lose your sight and require glasses. Being on gear is like putting yourself into 120% efficiency mode. You are stronger, faster, and bigger, not only physically but mentally as well. This feeling is like an addiction, stronger than a drug itself.
There is another post here about tendons, and I would recommend this page as the next article to read, as it has information about what happens if you stay long on steroids without tendon support. They fail quickly, and you will feel like an old man having problems getting up from the bed. High doses of testosterone reduce collagen production, weaken your tendons, and increase the risk of tears, leading to difficulties with movement, significant pain, and the loss of all gains, as you will be unable to lift weights.
I discovered such effects too late and struggled for two years, adding Deca to my TRT for assistance, but it is not working as I had hoped. You need to consider other options, like peptides, which can be pricey.
